NVC Surveys

 What is it?

The National Vegetation Classification (NVC) is a standardised method for identifying plant communities within Great Britain. NVC is more comprehensive and complex than the basic Phase 1 habitat survey and is used when a more detailed analysis is required.

How do we do it?

Quadrats are used to collect data on the abundance and frequency of each plant species. This information is then analysed and used to classify each habitat.

Who have we done them for?

Wildscapes is currently working with Derbyshire County Council to help monitor their Bolsover Grassland Project.
