When working on projects where we are required to work in standing water situations, we adhere to comprehensive risk assessments; to ensure the protection of the environment and the safety of our staff and members of the public.

 

Working for Pond Conservation
 
Working for Pond Conservation at Buntings Wood in Thorne, our team carried out a series of habitat management roles. This included using appropriate cutting techniques and chainsaws to cut willow (Salicaceae). We applied herbicide stump treatments following guidelines set by the Environment Agency and sought appropriate permissions to carry out the works.

 

Working for the River Stewardship Company

We deliver works for the River Stewardship Company and through this partnership have worked on a wide number of projects to make improvements to the River Don. This has included works from habitat management, such as clearing buddleia (Buddleja davidii) - using safe cutting techniques. We also carried out flood debris removal works.

We have used chainsaws to carry out management works close to the River Don as part of the British Land Project and applied herbicide treatments in the appropriate manner and under PA1/PA6 certification.
