Tree Planting Project for Sheffield City Council
- Client
- Sheffield City Council
We carried out tree planting at sites across Sheffield for Sheffield City Council's Community Forestry team; assisting them in their aim of planting 50,000 trees.
This involved the transportation, positioning and checking of services prior to carrying out planting works. We planted heavy standards, feathered trees and whips. We also worked with school groups whilst carrying out the work- carrying out interpretation and helping young people learn about the importance of trees.
Across the last 2 years we have successfully planted approximately 800 trees; with 100 of these being heavy standards weighing approximately 40 kilos each.
Our lead land manager, Jon Lewney has tree planting qualifications and is able to advise and deliver tree planting works and aftercare on a variety of sites.
Wildscapes is proud to be involved with this important project of tree planting and to be working closely with Sheffield City Council's Parks and Countryside team.
