Your questions for Professor Sir John Lawton
- Date
- Friday, 13 January 2012
Wildscapes is thrilled to give you the opportunity to ask Professor Sir John Lawton, author of Making Space for Nature and Chairman of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, your questions about the Natural Environment White Paper, Nature Improvement Areas or simply about your favourite nature reserve or what is lurking at the bottom of your garden.
John was formerly Chairman of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution, and Chief Executive of the Natural Environment Research Council (1999-2005). He is a passionate natural historian (particularly birds, botany and bugs). He trained as a zoologist at the University of Durham, and subsequently held posts at Oxford and York Universities, and Imperial College London.
He was elected FRS in 1989, awarded a CBE in 1997 and knighted in 2005 for his contributions to ecological science. He has been awarded numerous other national and international prizes.
Wildscapes will be gathering your questions over the next 10 days. Respond via Facebook (link), Twitter @wildscapes or email website@wildsheffield.com.
We will be putting a selection of your questions to Sir John later this month and will publish his responses on facebook and our website shortly afterwards.
